Another Macallan Ruby added to the Fah Mai Holdings Rare Whisky Collection
.
Although the Macallan Ruby was not universally welcomed upon its release back in 2013, this NAS bottling from the now discontinued 1824 series has seen a steady surge in price over the last few years.
.
The 1824 series was the core of The Macallan Travel Retail range for many years and as such many of the bottles could only be found domestically through at auction.
.
Even while the Ruby was still available throughout airports across the globe, its price continued to rise at auction, all be it that its shelf price was on the rise at the same time.
.
Macallan Ruby was around £125 for a 700ml bottle when it was first released, 6 years later, this edition was sold at WhiskyAuctioneer an online auction for £271 on the 7th of January 2019. With the addition of 10% commission by the auctioneer, the final sum could be £298, this shows £173 rise which is more than 138% of its retail price.
