Another Macallan 18-Year-Old Fine Oak added to the Fah Mai Holdings Rare Whisky Collection
.
Launched in 2006, this Fine Oak edition has been matured in a combination of three different wood types: European oak ex-Sherry, American oak ex-Sherry, and American oak ex-bourbon showcasing the range of casks in Macallan’s extensive warehouses.
.
Founded in 1824, The Macallan is one of the world’s most admired and awarded single malt whiskies. The reputation of The Macallan is based on a product of outstanding quality and distinctive character, founded upon a set of guiding principles, the Six Pillars.
.
The Six Pillars are the principals that make the Macallan a renowned whisky worldwide Spiritual Home, Curiously Small Stills, Finest Cut, Exceptional Oak Casks, Natural Colour, and Peerless Spirit.
.
This obsession with quality has been the hallmark of The Macallan since its founding by Alexander Reid in 1824.

.
The price of this edition from Macallan hasn’t changed much but the future is uncertain and the price of this Fine Oak 18-Year-Old edition might rise as this has happened to many whiskies that used to be available in retail shops but then were discontinued whether by chance or choice leading to the rising of their prices over time.
.
Take another Macallan Fine Oak as an example, Macallan Fine Oak 21-year-old was originally sold for around £90 back in 2012 when it was first released, its price has steadily increased until its discontinuation which accelerated the rate its price increased on the secondary market.
.
Six years later after its official release, Macallan Fine Oak 21-year-old fetched £620 on the 24th of February 2019 at WhiskyHammer.co.uk. With the addition of 10% commission by the auctioneer, the final sum could be £682, this shows £592 rise which is more than 657% of its original price, however, we can expect to see a greater rate of price growth in the future this bottle becomes rarer.
